oil on canvas 28x22

Painted from a photo taken in Door County, WI.

Raindown
Raindown

oil 12x24

Painted from a photo taken in rural Wisconsin. It was raining out when I painted this piece. I put the canvas out in the rain (intentionally) which, of course, played a bit of havoc with the oil paint! I love the effect the “mess” made!

Abandoned
Abandoned

36x18 oil on canvas

This was painted from a photo taken near Spring Green, WI. It was an abondoned house, which on a subsequent visit I discovered has now been torn down.

Me, Myself
Me, Myself

oil 36x24

This self-portrait is the first figure that I have painted in 40 years! I choose to show it uncensored as I am not ashamed of my body (we all have one!) and I am an advocate of “body positivity”.

A Piacere
A Piacere

12x24, oil

This is a scene from Lynn Nature Preserve located in the Town of Farmington, WI. As part of my residency for ArtServancy I was assigned this property to use as my own for a year of plein air painting. When I got there, however, the tall grasses with no pathways deterred me! I switched to another property (see my ArtServancy page) but not before I took photos from which I have done several paintings.

Marching On
Marching On

20x16, oil

The Fourth of July Parade in the city of Gambier, Ohio is the epitome of small town America! Near my mother’s home, we used to visit every Fourth and this parade was a must see. This old soldier spoke to me about “The Greatest Generation” of which my father was a part.

Honorable Mention, 2022 Wauwatosa Artists Workshop Library Show

Cobalt Crisp
Cobalt Crisp

16x12, oil

I love a cold Autumn day. The cobalt blue water catching the sun on a chilly day is my “hero” in this painting.

Shall We Walk?
Shall We Walk?

14x18, oil PB

This piece started out as a demonstration for a local art group and was then finished in the studio.

Summer Sparkles
Summer Sparkles

16x20, oil PB

The dappled light on this forest path near my mother’s home in Ohio was just dazzling! It was very hard to capture in paint!

Blue Day
Blue Day

20x16, oil

A winter day in Jacobus Park, Wauwatosa, WI. We live right near this park which makes it an easy destination even on a cold and blue winter’s day!
